Mother and daughter Anita and Sally Curbishley have launched The Little Day Nursery in Warrington with the help of a £15k loan from BFS.
The Little Day Nursery will have full and part time places available for up to 73 children, from the ages of three months up to five years. The nursery will create around 20 new jobs over the next five years for professional and qualified staff, will focus on healthy eating, outdoor play and integrated learning.
Before starting the new business Anita ran a playgroup for six years as well as being a buyer for three large musical instrument retail companies. She will now be managing the financial, catering and administration side of the business. Daughter Sally, who will be manager of the new business, has worked in a local day nursery for the past 13 years, culminating in her role as manager. Sally, Anita and their team will be giving the babies and children the highest standard of care and education, helping them to develop, learn and play in a stimulating and friendly environment. They are also developing a sensory room that will allow children to explore with lights and other sensory equipment, using Anita’s many years of experience working within the music industry.
Sally said: “I had thought about starting my own business for many years so being able to secure the loan and support from Business Finance Solutions to start a nursery with my mum has really made that dream come true. Having built a career in childcare I know just how critical early stage learning is for the future development of young children and how important it is for working parents. Our facilities and our team will create an environment in which we can really benefit our children and their families emotionally, educationally and socially.”
